New building codes and requirements have
recently been updated in several coastal states to provide
increased protection for lives and properties against
hurricanes. The Florida building code pioneered this
trend in March 2002. Several states are now adopting the
FBC standards.
In those areas, fenestration products are
now asked to withstand winds up to 150 miles per hour.
This new requirement suggests the use of approved
hurricane shutters or certified windows and doors. The Impact Jazz Sliding Door is becoming the
