New building codes and requirements have recently been updated in several coastal states to provide increased protection for lives and properties against hurricanes.  The Florida building code pioneered this trend in March 2002.  Several states are now adopting the FBC standards.

In those areas, fenestration products are now asked to withstand winds up to 150 miles per hour.  This new requirement suggests the use of approved hurricane shutters or certified windows and doors.  The Impact Jazz Sliding Door is becoming the standard in hurricane protection.  It offers Maximum Protection against hurricanes and associated wind-borne debris.

The impact-approved Impact Jazz Sliding Door uses Cardinal Glass Sea Storm laminated glass.  It provides unequalled protection.  Sea Storm looks like ordinary glass.  It is reinforced with a layer of 0.090” of PVB in between two sheets of glass.
